My final show for the year is going to be at Juggler’s Art Space, opening on Dec 12. It should be a good show, with a wide range of artists who’ve exhibited at Juggler’s throughout 2008.
Heres a sneak peak of what I’ve got for it so far (a few still need to be finished off). I’ll post up more detailed images on squidtank.com once they’re all complete.
Oops, forgot to post this one up, I drew it a few weeks ago when I caught up with a mate in at Ric’s. Just a few quick drawings with copics and pitt pens.
I’ve never really come across a pen that I love to draw with, but I came close with some Faber-Castell PITT pens. My friend Boris put me onto them a couple of years ago and I’ve used them ever since. They’re great when they’re new, but after a few (say 5-10 detailed) drawings, they lose their edge. The fine (S) ones lose their abilty to create a nice line without being held at 90 degrees to the pages (something that really annoys me), and the thickest ones (B) start to soften and become more brush like (which I think they ‘may’ be designed to do). Thankfully you can remove the nib of the thicker ones and rotate it 90 degrees to double their lifetime.
If any other artists out there have discovered any amazing pens (especially if they’re available in Australia), I’d love to hear about them.
Quite often I sit to draw and get stuck for ideas, its pretty frustrating. Heres a couple of little dudes that popped into my head this arvo (nothing special though).
