I’ve got a mini farmer squid tending to my veggie patch out on the balcony, and he was pretty excited to show me the first little strawberries of the year are starting to grow. Its the first time I’ve tried growing strawberries, so I’m pretty happy to see those little fellas sprouting already. Has anyone else grown these before? Got any tips?

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008Well after close to 25 hours of painting, I’ve finally finished my last piece for the BARI fest. This is another acrylic on canvas piece, about 76cm x 61cm. I’m glad to have finished this work and am quite proud of it, but it certainly is stressful trying to complete such a large painting with a looming deadline. I doubt I’ll do another piece as complex as this until I have a lot of spare time ahead of myself.
I’m also going to need to find a better way to photograph my paintings as the colours in these images aren’t particularly accurate.

I just popped down to a bakery down the road and got myself a super tasty pie with peas. It wasn’t really as big as the pic above, but I wish it was, it was soooo tasty.

Not quite as flash as my last lunch photo, but just as tasty. I had some flashbacks of my high school lunches which were normally vegemite sandwichs, to which I’d add Tomato Samboys. I couldn’t find any of them so I had to run with BBQ Smiths which weren’t too bad either.

I caught up with some mates for a feed down at Blue Smoke BBQ tonight. Half price wings night, you can’t go wrong. Food and service was tops as always, I can’t get enough of that place.

One of the good things about working from home is I can have lunch whenever I feel like it, and theres no rush to have it all made and eaten in 30 minutes. Heres my masterpiece of a sandwich I had today with ham, chicken, avocado, red onion, cucumber, lettuce and tomato on some healthy looking multigrain bread. Pretty tasty.

Since I almost forgot to draw a pic yesterday I figured I better start early today. While sitting out in the sun having some toast this morning I thought I may as well do my drawing out here since it was so nice and warm. The sun was pretty hardcore though, bouncing off the page and blinding me, but I like how it turned out.

Well I almost forgot to do a pic today (I was a little busy with work and GTA), but I just squeezed out this pic of my giant potato I had for dinner. So cheap and so tasty, just cover a potato in oil, dried chilli, salt n pepper and bake for an hour or so. Then slice him up and top it with sour cream, fresh chopped chives and dried shallots and serve with some fried tomato, onion n bacon on the side

I just got back from having breakfast with Jacei and her cousin’s family at one of our local cafes. I whipped up this little sketch of us all down the road after we finished eating. I’m so full I need to go lay down now.

Well the McDonald’s ads must have gotten to me as all I could think about when I woke up was cheeseburgers. I popped out and got a couple for lunch but they just aren’t as good as when I made them. If anyone gets the chance to work at Macca’s, do it, and whip up a cheeseburger, with 3 bits of meat, 4 bits of cheese, tomato sauce, grilled onions, slice of tomato and some lettuce. Its hard to get your mouth around but it tastes amazing fresh.
